Amy Shapiro

As I learned more about Amy I started to realize just how much we had in common. She was full of light, she was outgoing, adventurous, had a deep love for her family and friends; these are just a few of the wonderful qualities I could relate to. Something Amy’s father said about her that will always stick with me is, “this is a girl that literally nobody didn’t like, she would walk into a room and the whole room would light up.” Every time I think of Amy I get a sense of her being light and breezy and I can’t help but think about the clouds against a bright blue sky. I included an image I made from last summer as well as one of Amy’s poems. Both these pieces of art feel similar to the way Amy moved throughout her life, or at least how I imagine her to be, free.
