Paired With: Steven Russell Berrell
Untitled
For my Remembrance art project, I wanted to illustrate the impact Steven Russell Berrell left behind as a caring friend, talented musician, and joyful spirit. The photo in the center of the collage represents the ripple effect - the idea that one person can touch so many people’s lives. Even when seeing the simplest things such as nature, memories of Steven and all the remembrance students are present all around - especially on campus. The quote at the bottom of the collage is an excerpt from a poem titled On the Death of the Beloved by John O’Donohue. I think it perfectly incorporated Steven’s unwavering kindness, as well as his love for music. Enjoying and appreciating the little things in life, such as a beautiful sunset or flower petals, can remind others of loved ones and the memories they shared, even in times of grief.
