An angel does not need to be seen
An angel is always there,
Even when we cannot see him.
A brother, a son, a friend to all,
A life was taken too short,
But he will never be forgotten,
As he brushed happiness on every life he touched,
A charismatic boy robbed of life,
Still shines light on everyone,
Everyday.

Mark Lawrence Tobin (April 4, 1967 - December 21, 1988) sat in seat number 32G on Pan Am Flight 103 where too many lives were taken. Mark had a very athletic, noble, and open-minded personality, and his dream was to be a television sports announcer. He was a student at Fordham University where he was in charge of sports on the university’s radio station. While traveling in London, he worked with the Syracuse University communications program. He was a friend, a brother to six, and a son. He has not gone forgotten, and we recognize him today as a member of our Syracuse Community whose life was taken too soon, and who will forever be missed.
My name is Alexis Bailin and I choose to do this project in order to honor one of the members of our Syracuse University community, Mark Lawrence Tobin. In my drawing, I represented Mark in his prime element upfront and in bold announcing a sports game, and then him in lighter ink to show his physical disappearance, but in the very back of the drawing; there he is, in spirit, still with us today. Below the drawing is a short poem to embody Mark’s character, the beautiful life taken away from him, but how his remembrance stays important to us all.
